SUMMARY:e-Quiz 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Rotary Satellite e-Club of Ryde is holding its online e-Quiz on the weekend of 23-25 February. This is a Quiz with some hefty questions\, not much of a prize\, but the knowledge that the winner will be top of the e-heap should bring entrants from all around Australia – if not wider. There’s a small cash prize as well as a priceless trophy for the winner. \nThis is like having a pub quiz without leaving home. The flow of refreshments and volume of the music is purely under players’ control. \nAll proceeds go to Australian Rotary Health and participants are encouraged to register now so that the Club can wallow in your money until we give it away after the e-Quiz. Cost to play is only $25. You can buy as many tickets as you like\, but you get only one opportunity to play the Quiz. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday February 24\, Rotary members\, family and friends are invited to Rob Mactier’s property to join in the annual celebration of the life of Rob’s wife\, Kate\, who died of cancer in 2008. Money will be raised for Australian Rotary Health. \nOver ten years Rob’s efforts have raised $30\,000 through the Rotary Clubs of Richmond and Castlemaine. \nFor $75.00 per head (fully tax deductable) Rob and his daughters donate an extensive buffet lunch and a selection of wine\, beer and soft drinks. \nBookings should be made on the Event Register circulating at Rotary meetings or through John Tozer. SUMMARY:Rotary Rides Canberra Five Peaks Challenge
DESCRIPTION:This non-competitive cyclo-sportive event provides a great challenge to ride the six peaks of Canberra – Mount Stromlo\, Red Hill\, Mount Pleasant\, Mount Ainslie and Black Mountain and Dairy Farmers Hill (in the Arboretum). It is historically named ‘Five Peaks Challenge’ but since 2015\, when Dairy Farmers Hill (in the Arboretum) was added\, it has six peaks for you. That’s 30% extra! \nThere are two ride lengths (about 117 km or 88 km) within which you have the option to choose which peaks you climb and which ones you by-pass. Take on all six peaks for a total elevation gains of about 2\,000 m on the longer ride and 1\,450 m on the shorter ride – but you can bypass the peaks if necessary for less climbing.
