International Women’s Day 2016

Celebrating International Women’s Day in Adelaide

The Rotary Club of Adelaide celebrated International Women’s Day with a special Lunch in the Ian McLachlan Room at the Adelaide Oval.    The Lieutenant Governor of SA Professor Brenda Wilson was guest speaker.    Other guests on the day were PDG and ARH Director Barbara Wheatcroft, District Representative for D9500 ARH Richard Johnson and his wife Jan, Margaret Blake combined District  ISH committee member, RCA IHS Joanne O’Connor and Lorraine Lemmens Senior Project Officer Aboriginal Health Branch Department for Health and Ageing.  Joanne gave a short talk on her vocational interests as well as explaining how important the scholarship is to her studies.

Joanne’s mother and Lenore Chantrelle came to support Joanne.  I mentored Lenore when she was an Indigenous Health Scholar at RC Adelaide East.   Funds raised on the day are going towards Joanne’s studies for another year.   We were booked out with 145 in attendance.
