How will I contribute to improving Indigenous health as a qualified medical practitioner or health worker?

Completing this training will assist me in:
• A degree in social work
• skills to enhance the wellbeing of people, taking into account the influence of policy, socio-economic factors and social justice issues
• and become familiar with a range of social research methods and learn how to design and conduct research directly relevant to social work

Benefits to the Unit:
I would be one of very few Aboriginal Staff that would and could contribute to the Kanggarendi by having my Social Work Degree.

Benefits to the Department:
The Department has a Qualified Aboriginal Social Worker who can maybe one day do the intensive Social work with our growing number of
Aboriginal Clients – An Aboriginal Social Worker who has grown up in and on remote communities, with cultural experience, knowledge and the
University qualification to successfully work in the department.

Public Sector:
Have supported an Aboriginal person to gain a Social work qualification’s to move up in the public sector – opening avenues for Aboriginal
