How will I contribute to improving Indigenous health as a qualified medical practitioner or health worker?
I am a Willman man from Noongar boodja (country). After completing Year 12, I transitioned to completing a full time trainee-ship, part-time studies and casual work all simultaneously. My trainee-ship is with the Aboriginal Programs team at the Port Adelaide Football Club. I am currently studying a Diploma of Business and have also enrolled into a full-time degree (Bachelor of Human Movement/Master of Teaching) in 2020. I have also been working actually at a local gym as a personal trainer. Football is my passion, but I understand sport is not everything, and it is important to always have other aspirations. I love the work I am doing in the Power Aboriginal Programs with Indigenous youth, whether within our academies or out in community, and I believe that gaining a degree within the next 5 years will help me do so much more in this space. I am passionate about health and fitness, and feel excited abut the potential of having a positive impact within our Aboriginal communities, especially rural.
