How will I contribute to improving Indigenous health as a qualified medical practitioner or health worker?

Medical imaging combines everything that I am passionate about including photography, art, science, physics and helping others.   The opportunity to use advanced equipment in order to take an image of someone and their pathology and using such information to assist in their treatment is truly rewarding.

Within the next 5-10 years I hope to undertake further study in ultrasound imaging in order to become a Sonographer.   Additionally, I wish to gain more work experience in rural areas in order to diversify my knowledge base and expose myself to many different imaging modalities to help those in my community who need it most.  I would also like to stay connected with the Wirringka Student Services Community at the University of South Australia and offer tutoring and mentoring support of other Indigenous students, as I feel that I have the knowledge and skills to assist other students in their journey to become the next group of Indigenous health professions.
