LGBTIQ+
The majority of lesbian, gay, bi, trans, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) people lead happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. Being LGBTIQ+ doesn't automatically mean someone will have mental health issues but may mean they're at higher risk of experiencing poor mental health. Research and real-life experiences have found that LGBTIQ+ people have an increased risk of depression and anxiety, substance abuse, self-harming and suicidal thoughts.
