North Ryde Rotary
Dress Up Fun Run | (The Weekly Times 9th August, 2016)

NORTH Ryde Rotary’s 3rd annual Fun Run will be staged on Sunday August 28 at the Macquarie University Sports Fields, corner Culloden and Talavera roads, Macquarie Park from 9am to 2pm.

This popular event is organised by North Ryde Rotary in conjunction with venue partner Macquarie University but this time out it will be more fun as it is a ‘dress up’ (optional) event.

It is for fun walkers (2 km walk) and runners (5 km run) with proceeds to benefit Australian Rotary Health, to fund research into youth emotional health and treatment programs as well as other worthy Rotary projects. Open 2km run starts at 10am.

The Combined Open and Intercollegiate 5 km event starts at 10.45am with students of Macquarie University, Dunmore Lang College, Robert Menzies College and Macquarie University Village competing for the Intercolent which is part of the championship.

As well, the students deal with mental health challenges as young people try and complete their studies whilst mostly away from home.

Entrants to the 5km run and 2km walk will each pay a donation of $10.

Carers and spectators will pay a gold coin donation to enter the site.

Registration is now open: $20 adults or $10 students; online at: www.northrydefunrun.com.au or onsite at entrance from 9am on event day.

There’ll be food and interesting stalls on the field.
